Elemento
Colour-coded reinforcement cages modelled over structural drawings

Features — everything on the Elemento ribbon tab

Eleven Panels on One Revit Tab

Setting Out

Turn picked points into a numbered, coordinated setting-out table that stays up to date.

  • SOP Table — pick points in a plan; each gets a numbered marker and their coordinates land in a live schedule, a drafting-view table, or both.
  • Update SOP — refresh every marker from its current position and redraw the tables.

Views

Cut a section without touching the section tool twice.

  • Quick Section — three picks: line start, line end, then a point on the side you want to look toward, whose distance sets the far-clip depth.

Add Rebar

Revit’s own manual bar placement, on the Elemento tab where the rest of your rebar work lives.

  • Add Rebar — places a single bar by hand using Revit’s shape browser and sketch mode, unchanged.

Create Rebar

Nine generators that build a complete cage from a member you already modelled. Re-applying replaces what the tool made, so nothing duplicates.

  • Auto Rebar — reinforce every supported beam, column, wall and slab or floor in the active view at once, as one undo.
  • Beam — stirrups with up to three spacing zones plus top, bottom and side bars.
  • Curved Beams — stirrups at true arc-length spacing, square to the beam at each station, with longitudinal bars following the curve.
  • Column — ties with end-confinement zones, verticals per face and optional cross-links.
  • Wall — vertical and horizontal surface mesh on one or both faces, with per-direction spacing and hooks.
  • Slabs / Floors — top and bottom mesh on the real footprint, splitting around openings, lapped and staggered on long runs.
  • Pad Footing — top and bottom mats with four standard bar layouts.
  • Column Starters — finds every column on a picked footing and places L-bars matched to each column’s existing cage.
  • Slab / Wall Opening — near- and far-face trimmer bars on all four sides, each side individually editable.

Manage

A register of everything Elemento has reinforced, and the fastest way back into it.

  • Rebar Manager — every member carrying Elemento reinforcement, with a health check; select, zoom, edit, isolate or delete.
  • Edit Member — pick a reinforced member and its tool reopens bound to it.
  • Match Member — a format painter for reinforcement: copy one member’s cage onto as many of the same kind as you keep picking.
  • Preset Manager — every saved preset from every tool in one list; duplicate, rename, delete, and export or import them all as one file.

Modify

Cut, lap and split bars that are already in the model.

  • Split at Opening — split host bars crossing a door, window, shaft or opening, drop the piece inside the hole and pull the new ends back by cover.
  • Split Rebar — cut selected bars at a point, detail line or reference plane, keeping both remnants.
  • Split Set — partition a set into two between bar positions, without changing any bar length.
  • Splice Rebar — cut and lap the two pieces through a point, as a multiple of bar diameter, with offset and alternate-bar stagger.

Rebar Visibility

Get a reinforced model back under control — view-wide, or scoped to one picked member.

  • Hide / Show / Select Rebar — category-wide control over reinforcement in the active view.
  • Show and hide obscured — draw bars through their concrete host, then put it back.
  • Delete Rebar — remove all reinforcement visible in the view, with confirmation, as one undo.
  • Hide, Select and Delete by Host — the same three, scoped to one picked member.
  • Isolate / Unisolate Rebar — show only one member and everything hosted by it, then restore the view.

Color Filter

Read the model at a glance by colouring the steel.

  • Color Filter — colour rebar in the view by the values of any instance or type parameter.
  • Reset Filters — clear every rebar colour override in the view.

Rebar Presentation

Make a congested section into something you can actually annotate.

  • Show Single — keep one representative bar per set, spaced so no two coincide, ready for a multi-leader callout.
  • Show All — restore every bar of every set in the view.

Detailing

The chain from model to workshop: annotate the bars, schedule them, lay them out on sheets and send them out.

  • Auto Range — places Revit’s aligned multi-rebar annotation on picked sets from two offsets measured off the host boundary, so the detail annotates identically every time.
  • Bending Schedule — a real Revit schedule per rebar partition: bar mark, shape and the A–F bending dimensions, every number taken from Revit.
  • Plot Schedules — splits each schedule into sets and lays them across sheets automatically, wrapping to new rows and sheets, never past the border, in one undo.
  • Shape Legend — draws a 1:1 picture legend of every shape code the schedules print.
  • Export to Excel — writes the selected partitions to one workbook, a tab per partition, in an order you set.

CoWork

Get a fresh project ready, and get families back out of it.

  • Import Standards — brings in the rebar shapes, bar types, text and dimension styles and schedule templates from a per-country standards template. Idempotent, one undo.
  • Family Export — batch-saves loaded families out as .rfa files into category sub-folders.
Shape library

154 shapes ship, and every one of them draws

26 of them are the SANS 282 Table 1 sheet — the shapes a bender expects to see. The rest cover the configurations the sheet does not. Revit will call a shape complete and then draw nothing, so every shape we ship was read back out of Revit and confirmed drawable, and where Autodesk ships a South African shape of its own, all 25 of ours match it exactly.

Specification

What it runs on, and what backs it

2027Autodesk Revit
Built against the Revit 2027 API on .NET 10, Windows 64-bit. Later releases are planned, not shipped.
SANS 282Standards template
Import Standards brings in the shapes, bar types, styles and schedule templates. South Africa ships first; per country by design.
20Verification harnesses
Bar geometry, lap and bend maths are exercised outside Revit before any of it touches a model.

Before you ask

Which Revit versions?
Revit 2027 only, on Windows 64-bit. Support for later releases is designed for but not yet built.
Which reinforcement standards?
Standards arrive as a per-country template through Import Standards. South Africa (SANS 282) ships first, with its 26 standard shapes and cut-length rules. Other countries are a template, not a rewrite.
